One of Leicestershire’s biggest companies wants to relocate its headquarters to a 600,000 sq ft building on a proposed 150-acre logistics hub.

Property developer Mountpark Logistics says Syncreon Technologies - a £44 million turnover parts supplier to the automotive industry - wants to take a new head office on land alongside the A5 at Hinckley.

Mountpark has launched a public consultation about its wider plans to redevelop the huge stretch of greenfield land which it says could create up to 3,000 jobs and contribute between £121 and £157 million a year to the local economy.

It said the logistics park could include a new site for Syncreon Technology, which has a big distribution facility in the nearby Logix Road industrial estate, on the other side of the A5.

Mountpark says a new Syncreon HQ could provide it with space for 450 new jobs.

It said: “Syncreon is looking to increase its operating capacity locally and, to do so, requires new high quality employment space in the area.

“Currently Syncreon operates a substantial and successful distribution facility at Sketchley Park. As part of Syncreon’s planned expansion, the company requires a larger local headquarters.

“If approved, these plans will allow Syncreon to embark on a long-term programme of growth which could see its permanent local workforce grow from 350 to 800 staff.
