John Good Group has appointed Adam Walsh as its new chief executive following the departure of his predecessor when the Hull firm’s huge logistics arm was sold.

Denholm Logistics swooped for the sixth-generation company’s logistics, forwarding and liner agency Good Logistics, with Alan Platt moving with it on completion in September.

It has retained the Hessle Bridgehead base, with a new headquarters set to be part of the new chapter.

As reported when the deal concluded, John Good Group is eyeing new opportunities in sustainable business, alongside continuing maritime, travel, haulage and warehousing work.

Mr Walsh, who has fellow Hull family business JR Rix and Sons on his CV, joins from fuel card and fleet consultancy Driving Down. Before this, he served as group managing director at The Right Fuelcard Company, an independent fuel cards distributor.
