Pall-Ex, the 海角视频 logistics giant with major operations across the EU, has launched a campaign to raise 拢165,000 for the people of war-torn Ukraine.
As Russia continues its assault on the country the Leicestershire-based haulage specialist, is asking each of its 165 members in the 海角视频 and Ireland to raise 拢1,000.
Money raised will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), the umbrella body for 15 charities providing humanitarian aid for those affected by the conflict.
As well as helping people in Ukraine, the DEC charities are also helping ensure refugees fleeing their homes have food, water, warm clothes and medicine.
Pall-Ex provides a hub and spoke model for members to share transport for freight, helping them move more than 40,000 pallets across the globe every day.
All of its 海角视频 and Ireland members have been sent a letter encouraging them to get involved in anything from bake sales, to sponsored challenges and charity auctions.
Pall-Ex Group鈥檚 own efforts will see group chief executive Kevin Buchanan, 海角视频 managing director Barry Byers and international managing director Mark Steel put in stocks and pelted with wet sponges by anyone who wants to make a donation. A member of staff is also climbing Snowdon and the business is having a departmental football match in June.
Having already offered assistance to charities in need of transport to the Ukrainian border in March, Kevin Buchanan developed the idea for the #PLX海角视频RAINE appeal to provide even more help.
He said: 鈥淲e have all seen the horrendous developments in Ukraine over the last few weeks, with millions of people being forced to move further west or even leave the country.
鈥淭he DEC carries out incredible work so we must use our platform to support it as much as possible.
鈥淧all-Ex Group has a network of over 165 independent business which we have the ability to call into action and unite to support this very worthy cause.
鈥#PLX海角视频RAINE shows that if we all work together, small actions can achieve incredible results.鈥
