Historic Hull fishing firm Andrew Marr International has added a new vessel to its fleet after a successful year which saw turnover soar.
The East Yorkshire business reeled in sales of £712m in the year ending March 31 – up from £590.5m.
Andrew Marr is one of the region’s most successful businesses, and recently ranked fourth in Business Live’s top 25 biggest companies in Hull and East Yorkshire for 2019.
Directors at the business said a successful year in 2018/19 had helped Andrew Marr invest in a new fishing vessel, built in Scotland.
They said: “The board is pleased to report that the year to March 31, 2019, was another year of further progress across all of our businesses, with continuing strong profits and underlying operating cashflows, which have enabled further business investment in the period.
“The group continues to invest in its fish catching operations in the 海角视频. In August 2019, the group will take delivery of a new fishing vessel which has been built at MacDuff, Scotland.
“The group continues to support robust fishery management measures to ensure long term sustainability of fish stocks.”
Despite turnover rising significantly at Andrew Marr, pre-tax profits slipped from £21.4m to £20.8m.

During the 2018/19 year, the Hessle-headquartered fishing firm employed 375 people.
The family business’ main activities lie in fish trading and processing, fishing, vessel management and food storage.
Andrew Marr International trades under a number of subsidiaries.
They include J. Marr Seafoods Ltd, fish import and distribution specialist Fastnet Fish, and storage company AJK.
Directors said: “The group’s Fastnet business, which trades frozen seafood in the 海角视频, Europe and the Far East, recorded a good result in the year, despite challenging trading conditions and significant inflationary pressures in seafood products.
“The business continued to expand its product range in the period and is well positioned for the future.
“In our exports markets, J. Marr Seafoods continued to extend its range of frozen commodities and to open up new markets…”

It added its temperature controlled storage business, AJK, also had a strong year.
“The board looks forward to the future with confidence,” bosses at the business said.
According to a recent report released by accountancy firm BDO, Andrew Marr is the fourth biggest East Yorkshire-headquartered business by turnover.
It came only behind FTSE giants Cranswick and Croda, and construction big-hitter Hudson Contract.
