Automotive logistics provider GBA Group has unveiled a major expansion of its Grimsby operations.
GBA Automotive Technical Centre has been launched on a gateway site just across from the sprawling Alexandra Dock base, recognised as one of the 海角视频’s primary import and export terminals.
It features pre-delivery inspection and bodyshop facilities as well as the makings of an Electric Vehicle Centre of Excellence, as a training academy and regional hub is developed to support the emerging switch to green motoring.

Two land acquisitions over the past year have seen a 4.2-acre parcel united, taking in the former Jewsons site and neighbouring land off Armstrong Street, with 30 new roles emerging.
GBA Group managing director, Cale Judah, said: “The opening of GBA ATC further enhances our commitment to Grimsby and our desire to provide a best in class solution. “Working with our long-established client base we continue to back the advancement of EV technologies and the capabilities required to enable it. Our investment into both EV infrastructure and developing the next generation of skilled mechanics will provide new exciting opportunities for both GBA and the region.
“The site utilises GBA’s latest in-house technology to deliver a first class physical and digital programme, fully supported by our logistics and technical services capability that will ensure we meet the needs of all our customers.”
Alongside advanced skills with diagnostics will come data analytics and information handling.

Existing buildings have been overhauled in keeping with its recently celebrated Green Zero credentials, while the bodyshop will see “replicated factory standards” with the team proud to act as “an extension to the manufacturer’s operations”.
It is the group’s 11th location, featuring four pre-delivery inspection lanes, state-of-the-art passenger and commercial vehicle bodyshop and covered valet bays.
Mr Judah said the privately owned business was able to take a longer-term view when making major investments, looking beyond the current global chip shortage that has put the brakes on new car sales.
It anticipates being able to handle 140 vehicles a day if the market requires.
EV warranty and servicing work could also be carried out for regional dealerships where the volumes aren’t at levels to make it viable at standalone sites. It is working with the different manufacturers it works with to provide transferable training for a high growth market.
Work has begun with key client Volkswagen Group vehicles, including the new all-electric ID.3s, and a significant contract with a national rental company.
The site will also be home to GBA Technologies Ltd’s global fourth party logistics service, where it manages the end-to-end logistics chain for the world’s largest automotive and non-automotive manufacturers. E-customs capability has been enhanced to deal with post-Brexit complexities too, with 海角视频, Ireland and European operations within the globally-focused business.
