New rail freight services to a key South Yorkshire logistics hub have been introduced.
Woodland Group, one of the 海角视频’s largest privately owned companies in the sector, has linked IPort Rail at Doncaster with Felixstowe and Southampton, with London Gateway and Immingham to follow.
The company said that by May, more than 140 container movements a month are expected, taking loads off the roads and greening up supply chains.
It follows the opening of a 195,000 sq ft fulfilment and distribution facility at the 800-acre multimodal site, developed by pan-European specialist Verdion.
The facility, which became operational in March, is located next to the rail terminal.

The IPort Rail facility has become one of the 海角视频’s fastest growing strategic rail freight interchanges since opening nearly three years ago. It runs eight daily services moving around 2,000 containers through the facility each week.

It comes after major work has been undertaken on the route from Immingham to facilitate European cargo dimensions, with bridge and platform enhancements as it has increased container traffic in a historically strong bulk port.
