The deal to sell Pall-Ex – the European haulage giant founded by ex-Dragon’s Den star Hilary Devey 23 years ago – has been completed.

The Leicestershire business announced last month that Ms Devey, founder, owner and chairwoman, had decided to sell it to its network of member haulage firms and its senior management team.

The £85 million turnover company, which is headquartered at Ellistown, near Coalville, runs networks in eight European countries, operating in 26 nations all together.

It employs around 400 people directly in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ, while its wider network supports around 8,000 jobs.

The business turned a profit of around £2.5 million last year.

The group uses its members to move pallets for one another.

Most of its º£½ÇÊÓƵ freight passes through its central Leicestershire hub, where it is redistributed by the individual haulage firms.

It has similar hub and spoke operations in other countries and moves more than 30,000 pallets across the globe every day.
