It's the latest in a long list of acquisitions for the Burnley firm

Mark Jones of EFS Global

One of the North West's largest freight and haulage groups has bought Lincolnshire-based logistics firm Caistor Distribution for an undisclosed fee.

Burnley-based EFS Global has announced the Market Rasen-based firm as its latest in a string of acquisitions, adding it to a network of 11 depots and offices around the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

The North West firm said the deal was "another positive step" of its ongoing growth and acquisition strategy across the country.

Predominantly based in Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire, Caistor provides specialised logistics services including pallet distribution, general haulage and warehousing – both in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and internationally.

Mark Jones, MD of EFS Global, said: “Despite the challenges that coronavirus has thrown up, EFS Global has continued to look for acquisition and growth opportunities over the past few months.

"Caistor Distribution is a great addition to our business and will help to drive our service offering even further.”

EFS, which also operates its own º£½ÇÊÓƵ and European road freight fleet, works with selected partners around the world.

The deal follows a number of other acquisitions made by EFS in recent years including Euro SDB, 747 Express Freight, Logictrans º£½ÇÊÓƵ Limited, RTS Refrigeration, Red Scar Tyres, Bradtrans International, CS Brunt, Horizon Distribution, Euro-Tran Despatch, JRS Traction, PDQ Specialist Courier Services and FWD Freight Services.
