East Midlands Airport is gearing up to host its first in-person jobs fair since the start of the pandemic.

That Castle Donington airport recently revealed it had 150 posts to fill as it prepared for passenger numbers to pick up again as travel restrictions relax.

Other big employers on the site including DHL Express, aviation services specialists Swissport and cargo handling agent HAE also have a high number of posts to fill.

The jobs fair will take place between 10am and 2pm on Saturday, February 26 in the check-in hall, and anyone interested can register through the Eventbrite website, which also ensures they can have free parking.

A 2021 event had to be cancelled due to the pandemic and, instead, the airport has been running virtual events as part of its recruitment drive.

This jobs fair will allow people to meet employers in person to find out more about the roles available, ranging from front line operational jobs to hospitality and security.

The airport and its partner expect 2022 to be a busy year, with around 80 per cent of pre-Covid passenger travel.

The travel sector was one of the hardest hit during the pandemic during which international travel was brought to a standstill.
