Derbyshire logistics firm signs deal for huge new warehouse as demand for services grows

A Derbyshire warehousing and distribution business has secured a deal has secured a deal for a new building to help meet demand from its customers.

Ascott Transport Ltd (ATL), which is headquartered at Foston, has signed a lease on a 93,000 sq ft warehouse at the Centrum 100 Business Park in Burton.

ATL was founded 60 years ago and today employs more than 200 staff. In recent years, the business has invested heavily in its Foston base, in Woodyard Lane.

Last year, it officially opened its new Midlands Hub, a 190,000 sq ft distribution centre to allow the firm to expand its capacity and attract future new business.

However, the business has now decided to rent space at Centrum 100 in order to meet the warehousing and distribution needs for existing and prospective contracts. 

Centrum 100 is a popular site for warehousing and distribution businesses because of its good transport links. Current occupiers on the site include Boots, DHL, Clipper Logistics, Palletforce and Argos.

The deal was secured by Commercial Property Partners (CPP), acting as joint agents with McGuinness Waddington Real Estate (MWRE), on behalf of the landlord Custodian REIT.
