A global logistics giant has cemented its North presence with the acquisition of a prime industrial and office complex.

Den Hartogh Logistics, already a large employer in the region at the forefront of portal trade expansion strategies, has acquired The Minories in the undisclosed deal.

Based at South Killingholme on the North and North East Lincolnshire boundary, The Minories is close to Immingham Docks, the º£½ÇÊÓƵ's leading deep water port complex handling over 65 million tons of cargo every year. It had been marketed with a guide price of £3.6 million.

The investment, which includes tenanted offices, more than 40,000 sq ft of warehouse and workshop space and a yard for 64 trailer units, builds on the recently announced plans to grant Freeport zone status for Immingham and the Humber, projected to create 7,000 jobs, and making the region a global gateway.

Gary Piper, Den Hartogh Logistics’s º£½ÇÊÓƵ & Ireland general manager, said: “This is a tremendously exciting acquisition for us. The Minories site gives us a superb opportunity to further develop our presence in the North, to contribute to the success of the freeport, and to encourage further investment and jobs within the region.”

The firm already has major operations in Hull for dry bulks, with liquid interests close to the new site by the South Bank oil refineries.

Den Hartogh Logistics was assisted in the key acquisition by the corporate and commercial team at Teesside law firm The Endeavour Partnership.
