Amazon creating 500 jobs at new East Midlands warehouse - with plans to add another 500

Recruitment at Castle Donington now underway for roles in areas such as HR, IT, finance, engineering and operations

All smiles as Amazon expands

Amazon is taking on 500 staff at a new warehouse going up near East Midlands Airport.

The global online retailer hopes to have the operation at Segro Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway development, in Castle Donington, up and running later this year.

Eventually it plans to have 1,000 workers based there.

Take a look around the Coalville Amazon Fullfilment Centre as it gears up for the Christmas rush.

It comes after the business announced that it will create 2,000 new jobs in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ in 2019 in a move that will take its total permanent workforce to more than 29,500 by the end of the year.

Recruitment at Castle Donington is now underway for roles in areas such as HR, IT, finance, engineering and operations.

Amazon salaries start at £9.50 for full-time, part-time, temporary and seasonal employees in the company’s fulfilment centres.

The Castle Donington operation will help it meet growing customer demand, increase its product selection and support more third-party sellers.

The Segro Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway is north of East Midlands Airport

The Segro Logistics Park East Midlands Gateway, close to junction 24 of the M1, will be one of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s biggest, with 6 million sq ft of warehouse space and a new 50 acre rail freight interchange operated by Maritime Transport.
