Chris Preston, NatWest’s Regional Managing Director for South West and Wales, went to Trekenner Primary School in Devon to teach a MoneySense lesson called ‘It’s party time’ to all of key stage 2 children.

The lesson, part of NatWest’s MoneySense programme, brings to life the costs associated with having a birthday party and gets children thinking about budgets and how maths is useful in everyday life. The lesson also aims to teach children the difference between wanting something and needing something.

MoneySense is NatWest’s free financial education programme for 5-18 year olds. Now in its 25th year, it’s the longest running bank-led financial education programme for young people in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ

Almost 7.5m young people have learnt more about money thanks to the programme. Part of the MoneySense programme involves NatWest colleagues volunteering to deliver MoneySense Workshops in their local schools.

Chris Preston, NatWest’s Regional Managing Director for South West and Wales said: "We believe that all children should feel confident with money and that’s why we’ve been teaching MoneySense in schools for over 25 years. It’s never too early to start and the pupils of Trekenner Primary School were exemplary students."
