Catherine Infant School, Leicester, submitted by Maber Architects and Galliford Try

An ageing and outdated school needed to be replaced as it was not fit for purpose.

There were high levels of noise pollution, unwanted public interaction and the entire school and surrounding area are within a flood zone.

To overcome those constraints, the new building was raised above the one-in-100-year floodline and a landscape gradient makes it accessible, with sculpted elements adding fun spaces for the children to play in while improving staff supervision.

The new two-storey school has a smaller footprint which allowed for temporary classrooms in the northern part of the site during construction.

Greenstone Primary School, Coalville, submitted by Stepnell, Haworth Group and Lungfish Architects

Greenstone Primary School, built on the fringes of the National Forest, is Leicestershire's first purpose-built forest school.

Part of a sustainable community development in Coalville, the school will provide 420 primary school places for a brand new community of more than 2,000 homes.

The school has been designed with forest school principles at its heart. Teaching, pastoral and ancillary accommodation is arranged across six pavilions.

Jewry Wall, Leicester, submitted by Pulse Consult and Leicester City Council

The renewal of the Jewry Wall Museum was an ambitious and sensitive project, centred on the careful restoration and reimagining of the grade II-listed museum.

Originally completed in 1962 and designed by one of the 20th century's most-esteemed architects, Trevor Dannatt OBE, the museum had become increasingly underused.

This project sought to not only restore the museum's architectural integrity but to redefine its purpose and accessibility for future generations.

Tom Woolley, key account manager at award sponsor Procure Partnerships Framework, said: "Procure Partnerships Framework is proud to be a returning sponsor of this award.

"Last year's event was a true highlight in the East Midlands calendar and a fantastic display of the outstanding innovation taking place every day across the region.

"I am looking forward to seeing the incredible projects shortlisted for this year's ceremony, which I have no doubt will be of an excellent standard once again."
