An East Yorkshire window glazing specialist is growing fast as customers value its straight forward, family-based approach to service.聽
WGS Limited (WGS Glazing), based in Swanland, was founded in February 2018 by former sole trader Richard Wharram and business partner Edd Wheldon.聽
The business is on a mission to provide great value, high-quality window glazing across Hull & East Yorkshire.
Mr Wheldon said: 鈥淚 hate being sold to, and we wanted to create a business which did things differently.
鈥淲e don鈥檛 have sales targets, we want to grow via word of mouth, and take pride in what we do.鈥
To deal with demand, WGS Glazing recently added a second vehicle to its fleet, and is now laying the foundations for further growth.
Services offered by WGS include the replacement of uPVC & Aluminium windows, supply of composite doors, fitting of roof lanterns and installation of conservatories and orangeries.
WGS Glazing has also entered the commercial sector, and recently completed a project to install 40 windows at a property in South Street, in the heart of Hull.
Mr Wharram said:聽鈥淒ouble glazing sales people have a terrible reputation and as an industry has been slow to modernise.
鈥淚t is really not rocket science, our customers value our straight forward approach. With online reviews we have to make sure we exceed expectations on each and every job we undertake.鈥
The business is growing fast, and now employs six people.
WGS has received strong reviews from customers so far. It boasts a 100 per cent five-star rating on both its Google and Facebook review pages, with almost 50 recommendations now racked up.
鈥淚 came into the business as I saw the great potential,鈥 Mr Wheldon said.
鈥淲e have known each other since we were kids through a mutual hobby of team sailing and he wanted some help expanding what he did.
鈥淲e took that teamwork into the business. I deal with the front of house and Richard utilises his 20 years of industry experience to ensure a high quality and on-time installation.鈥
The business duo are the current directors at WGS. Alongside them in is a team of two full-time fitters and two apprentices.
Mr Wheldon said: 鈥淭he apprentice scheme was really important to us, having grown up locally we really want to put something back into the community and found training apprentices a great way of doing this.
聽鈥淚t is so important to us that every customer is satisfied with the work that we do. At WGS we also have low overheads and as such we are able to be very competitive on price.鈥
