A STEM Skills Expert and business coach will host a series of workshops to develop the technical and problem-solving skills of those working in the STEM industries in North East Lincolnshire and coastal regions.

Dr Jo Mason - a skills expert in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) - will lead the new 21st Century Skills Workshops taking place in Skegness on Tuesday, March聽 24, and in Grimsby on Wednesday, March 25.

These workshops are funded by 脴rsted 海角视频鈥檚 East Coast Community Fund and delivered in collaboration with the University of Lincoln.

The workshops aim to enhance participants鈥 confidence, ambition and critical thinking, and will expand on the existing skill-set of employees seeking career progression into more technical roles 鈥 and businesses can now sign up.

Delegates will take part in a series of interactive activities, such as an engineering-focused Escape Room, and building a wind-powered car. They will leave the workshop with a University of Lincoln 鈥淪kills Passport鈥, highlighting their individual skills and signposting career development opportunities. They will also be invited to attend a dedicated follow-up group coaching session for each workshop from Dr Mason.

Eleanor Ramsey, the University of Lincoln鈥檚 Educational Partnerships Manager, said: 鈥淭hese events are designed to support delegates in developing their skills and knowledge within a safe and engaging learning environment. We hope that participants will leave the sessions feeling both inspired and empowered.鈥

The East Coast Community Fund was set up by wind-power giant 脴rsted 海角视频 to support community and environmental projects along the Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and North Norfolk coast. The programme will be delivered by the University of Lincoln鈥檚 Educational Partnerships Team.

The workshops take place on Tuesday, March 24, 9am-4pm, at the North Shore Hotel, Skegness, and on Wednesday, March 25, 9am-4pm, at Grimsby Institute, Grimsby.
