Celebrate the HR&D stars developing talent in the North East

There are 10 categories that can be entered, representing a range of ways that HR&D professionals can excel

The new North East HR&D Awards are launching for 2023, as we kick off our search for the region’s human resource development stars. The awards are all about celebrating the HR&D profession whilst raising the profile of the North East as a fantastic place to live and work.

There are 10 categories that can be entered, representing a range of ways that HR&D professionals can excel, and a glitzy awards evening will be held on June 15 at The Fed, Gateshead.

HR&D is a vital part of a business’ success - helping to build a skilled and talented workforce, giving employees the chance to reach their full potential and take a business to the next level. This role has been more important than ever in recent years, as obstacles like the Covid-19 pandemic have made it necessary to have a workforce that is skilled, adaptable and properly supported.

The awards are open to organisations and individuals across the North East, from Teesside up to Northumberland, who have demonstrated the ability to promote this all-important development and build diverse, capable teams that are able to meet the challenges of the present day.

It might be through the innovative use of technology to improve development, a focus on health and wellbeing, or a championing of diversity in the workplace, to name just a few ways that HR&D teams can distinguish themselves.

Entries are open until Friday April 21, and can be submitted via the official website - . The awards are a fantastic opportunity to have the important work of HR&D professionals properly recognised - so if you think that you know of an individual or organisation who fits our category criteria, don’t hesitate to submit an entry now.

Journal editor Graeme Whitfield said: "We are excited to be launching these new awards designed to recognise and celebrate the people profession.

"We encourage applications from all sizes of businesses, across the whole of the region, of any work or projects over the last two years.
