The Duke of Edinburgh visited the Youth Service Centre on Heneage Road in Grimsby, as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Date - May 19th, 1993 Caption - The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh arrive at Grimsby at the Royal Dock slipway and are greeted by the Lord Lieutenant of Humberside, Tony Bethell, who introduced the royal party to local dignitaries. They were transported from the Royal Yacht, Britannia, by royal launch and were welcomed by a guard of honour of Sea Cadets. The couple then departed to their separate engagements. Here she attended the Siemens Gamesa wind turbine blade factory at the Alexandra Dock to meet staff and see the work they undertake at the renewable energy international company.
