A Wiltshire manufacturer of castors and wheels has acquired a removals equipment firm for an undisclosed sum.

Calne-based BIL Group said the deal for Evo Supplies was a "strategic addition" to its portfolio of material handling brands.

The Porte Marsh Road company also manufactures materials handling equipment used by delivery drivers and in warehousing operations. The business employs more than 60 staff and was itself acquired by PHD Industrial Holdings in 2022.

It is the company’s second acquisition and follows the purchase of H Varley Ltd in March last year.

Tim Murrow, managing director of BIL Group, said: “The EVO acquisition is another pivotal milestone in the history of BIL Group and the next chapter of our growth story as we continue our commitment to º£½ÇÊÓƵ manufacturing."

EVO Supplies was founded in 2013 when Juliet and Greg Dunn purchased a small removal supplies business on Mersea Island in Essex. The company is now one of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s leading manufacturers of wooden furniture skates, or 'dollies'. Ms Dunn will retire following the acquisition.

"EVO’s skates and dollies are an attractive product range which also brings significant synergies in combination with castors and wheels," added Mr Murrow.

"EVO is a well-established brand, with a strong reputation for its high quality in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ market, and we are looking to build on existing and new customers and export this product further to a wider market.”
