Vauxhall owner Stellantis' half-year results rocket as industry continues Covid-19 recovery

The results come after Stellantis confirmed a £100m investment into its Ellesmere Port plant

Major changes are set to be made at the Ellesmere Port factory

Revenue and pre-tax profits at Stellantis, the automotive giant behind worldwide brands including Ellesmere Port-based Vauxhall, rocketed during the first half of its financial year as the industry continued its recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Amsterdam-headquartered organisation has reported a net revenue of €72.610bn from continuing operations for the six months, up from the €19.614m during the same period in 2020.

Its pre-tax profits also surged from €876m to €7.127bn over the same period.

Stellantis is a 50:50 joint venture between Italian-American conglomerate Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the French PSA Group.

Its other brands include Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, DS, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Mopar, Opel, Peugeot and Ram.

The results come after Stellantis confirmed a £100m investment into its Ellesmere Port plant, securing hundreds of jobs at the huge site.
