Triton Group secures British Steel security contract - 80 staff transfer

West Yorkshire firm takes the role for major manufacturer with sites in North Yorkshire, Teesside and Cumbria

British Steel has appointed Triton Group to deliver site security across the operations.

A major security contract has been awarded by British Steel.

West Yorkshire headquartered Triton Group will take on the key role on the company’s huge sites for an initial two year period.

The national security specialist will welcome 80 staff from the previous provider, with three new off-road vehicles and an enhanced training package lined up.

“Securing our sites and assets is vitally important to us,” British Steel chief executive Ron Deelen said.

“Triton have worked with us throughout the recent global pandemic to help us meet the changing needs of our business and have proved to be responsive and reliable.

“We look forward to working with them to further enhance our site security with new vehicles and personnel trained to the highest standard.”

Triton will provide 24-hour security at the Scunthorpe head office and integrated steelworks site, as well as at British Steel’s Special Profiles operation at Skinningrove, the Special Profiles Darlington site and TSP Engineering in Workington, West Cumbria.
