Surface Transforms makes brake discs for supercars

A Merseyside firm that makes brake discs for supercars has agreed a £20m deal with a US car making giant.

Surface Transforms announced on Tuesday it has been chosen as a 'tier one' supplier of a carbon ceramic brake disc to a "major mainstream US company".

Despite not revealing the name of the client, the Liverpool-based company said it was "one of the most respected names in the industry".

The contract is for a carbon ceramic brake disc as standard fit on both axles of a new edition to an existing internal combustion engine car.

Surface Transforms said revenue from the deal is estimated to be £20m starting in mid 2024.

Kevin Johnson, CEO, said: "This is a very significant win for Surface Transforms. The customer is one of the most respected names in the industry and provides a further key reference point for other OEMs.
