Steelite International acquires neighbouring pottery firm

Steelite International employs hundreds of staff at its headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent

Steelite president and CEO John Miles

Pottery firm Steelite International has acquired a neighbouring pottery business - just three months after announcing its own takeover.

The tableware giant has acquired luxury fine bone china manufacturer William Edwards Limited which is based just streets away from Steelite's Stoke-on-Trent headquarters.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of US-investment firm Arbor Investment's decision to acquire Steelite for an undisclosed amount.

William Edwards Limited, founded in 1993 by William Edwards in Stoke-on-Trent, is known globally for its fine bone china servicing famous brands across the world.

This includes collaborations with Michelin-star chefs like Brett Graham and Tom Kerridge to design 'stunning yet practical' tableware collections.

Their reputation in servicing four and five-star hotels has led to them landing a portfolio of high profile customers, including Jumeirah, Rosewood London, Claridge's, Four Seasons Hotel, The Connaught, The Dorchester, and the Historic Royal Palaces.

"Our goal with all our iconic brands is to provide customers with exceptional quality, creative design, and unparalleled service; William Edwards is a perfect fit."
