Steel door manufacturer Bradbury Group has swooped for a specialist º£½ÇÊÓƵ business as it widens its expertise.

The Scunthorpe-headquartered firm has acquired Liddle Doors, a Durham-based supplier to the utilities sector.

It has provided security solutions for more than 40 years, supplying to several water, telecoms and power distribution companies including notable names such as Anglian Water, Network Rail, O2, and National Grid.

The two companies have worked together in a joint venture for the past two years, and the buy-out is described as “the next logical step commercially for both brands,” uniting scale and specialism.

Bradbury Group’s managing director, Tim Strawson, said: “Liddle Doors is one of the most efficient installers of security infrastructure upgrades in the country and is widely regarded for their exceptionally high levels of project management, so I am delighted that they are joining the group.

"We have worked with Liddle Doors successfully for several years now and there has always been a unique synergy between the two companies, making this exciting new partnership a natural fit for both companies.”

Liddle Doors will continue to operate from Seaham, but some production will switch to Bradbury Group’s new 135,000 sq ft site on Foxhills Industrial Estate.

It opened earlier this year, following an £8 million investment which allows it to produce more than 100 doorsets a day, with storage space for 4,000.
