Precision fabrication manufacturer ECAM Engineering has upgraded its factory - thanks to the backing of a six-figure funding package from HSBC º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

The Cheadle-based engineering firm, which was established 50 years ago, has expanded its Tower Crane Drive factory by 30 per cent after taking on two additional industrial units next to its current site. The extra 5,382 sqft of space is now being used to accommodate offices and production facilities.

ECAM Engineering - which supplies clients in the earthmoving, construction and rail industries across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ - also used HSBC º£½ÇÊÓƵ's funding to buy a new plasma cutting machine, a computer-controlled milling machine and a CNC press brake which will allow the company to scale up production by at least 20 per cent.

As a result of the expansion, ECAM Engineering anticipates it will create three new jobs - and increase revenue by 10 per cent - in the next 12 months. The company currently employs a team of 35 staff and last year enjoyed a turnover of £2.5 million.
