Royal visit for º£½ÇÊÓÆµ's largest police helmet maker Try & Lilly

Britain's biggest police hat maker was subject to a Royal visit on Monday as the Princess Royal came to Merseyside.

Try & Lilly Ltd welcomed Princess Anne to its Fabric District HQ for a tour of the production facility.

Acting in her role as president of the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ Fashion and Textile Association, she s heard how the firm has been manufacturing hats since 1864, initially for the British Merchant Fleet - which was based in the Port of Liverpool.

Now 156 years old, Try & Lilly is the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ's largest uniform headwear manufacturer, servicing numerous organisations such as the Ministry of Defence, º£½ÇÊÓÆµ police forces, Harrods and British Airways.

Emma Graham, business development director of Try & Lilly, said “We’ve been truly privileged to host Princess Anne, and showcase the craftsmanship and values that have defined our company for a century and a half.

During the visit, the firm said it showcased the wide variety of uniform products produced on site in Liverpool.

The Princess Royal met the Try & Lilly staff and observed various manufacturing processes being carried out on the factory floor.
