Rolls-Royce has agreed a deal with the US Navy worth $115.6million for ship engines, propulsion components and services.
The engine contract, which is worth $34.4million, is a follow-on production agreement for 16 new MT7 gas-turbine engines for Navy ship-to-shore connector landing craft, the company said.
Rolls-Royce is the only provider of gas-turbine engines installed on the landing craft, which is produced by US industrial conglomerate Textron.

The MT7 engine is produced in Indianapolis, Indiana, in the US, and is a variant of the Rolls-Royce AE 1107C engine powering V-22 aircraft.
The propulsion components contract, valued at $10.9million, will include production of main propulsion monobloc propellers, propeller hubs, blades and other components.
The ship components will be produced at Rolls-Royce's facilities in Walpole, Massachusetts.
The services agreement, valued at up to $70.3million, covers maintenance and repair services of controllable pitch propeller hubs and oil distribution boxes for multiple Navy ship classes including DDG 51 destroyers.

The ship components will be serviced at Rolls-Royce's facilities in Walpole and work is expected to be completed in 2026.

The news follows an announcement by Rolls-Royce for plans to make its operations net-zero carbon by the end of the decade.
The firm has joined the UN’s Race to Zero campaign and is aiming to reach its emissions target by 2030.
Last month, the engineering giant confirmed it was cutting 9,000 jobs from its global workforce of 52,000 due to a downturn in the aviation sector caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
The company said the cuts would predominantly affect its civil aerospace business, which has its º£½ÇÊÓÆµ base in Bristol and Derby.
Unions have urged the company to diversify and it is believed that the focus on green technologies could provide the answer.
