Princess Yachts reveals details of X80 Superfly due for 2021 launch

Manufacturer to unveil new vessel next year as its X95 sister boat undergoes sea trials off Plymouth

Princess Yachts' X80 vessel is due for launch in 2021

The º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s largest yacht maker has revealed details and stunning images of its latest model – with its eye-catching Sky Lounge - as it continues its recovery from the coronavirus lockdown.

Plymouth-based Princess Yachts is now marketing the X80, which will be due to launch in the Autumn of 2021. The vessel is the sister boat of the new X95, which is currently undergoing sea trials off Plymouth, and the second model in the new Superfly family.

The X80 has been developed to offer a “unique boating lifestyle” that is tailored to how each owner wants to use the yacht. It has a “super flybridge” providing in excess of 30% more useful interior space on-board than a traditional flybridge yacht of its length. It is also available with optional main deck master stateroom which includes private owner's sundeck.

Developed in collaboration with Princess Yachts' long-standing naval architect, Olesinski, and Italian design house Pininfarina the X80 follows the X95's open-living approach, and Princess said it is “boldly re-writing the rules of yacht design” by incorporating the concept of a super flybridge featuring practical outdoor space, and versatile interior space.

The X80 layout is defined by large, adaptable spaces that can be used and formatted in a variety of ways, offering the owner and guests a flexible boating lifestyle for entertaining and hosting, for example with a large informal dining area on the main deck or alternatively the option of a dining area in the climate-controlled Sky Lounge.

This includes an entertainment system with audiophile quality Naim audio system, which is also fitted in the saloon and master stateroom as standard.

The Sky Lounge layout is available with a large sofa opposite a hand-crafted sideboard with hidden television unit or as an optional informal dining area to seat eight, with wet bar opposite.

Princess Yachts has stressed its “aggressive investment strategy”, and the company’s record financial position and full order book, as reasons it has been able to create such high-spec new yacht designs.
