Grimsby鈥檚 JCS Fish has seen a flagship product handed a Silver Quality Award by a leading global organisation.
The port-based firm鈥檚 BigFish Signature Oak Smoked Salmon has been recognised by the International Quality Institute Monde Selection in Brussels.
It has been certifying the quality of products from around the world for nearly 60 years.
The accolade is a second major food award for JCS鈥檚 premium BigFish Signature range, which was launched last year. In November it was named 鈥楤est Smoked Fish鈥 at the 海角视频鈥檚 Quality Food & Drink Awards.

A 拢200,000 investment in a new smokehouse brought the process in house, with mechanically heated traditional-style kilns installed at the Murray Street premises.
Director Louise Coulbeck said: 鈥淭he changes we鈥檝e had to make to our operation to keep everyone safe and keep going since the start of the Covid-19 epidemic have been tough on our staff, so this award is a welcome boost for the team.聽
鈥淢onde Selection is a major international accolade for a small business such as ours and naturally we are all absolutely delighted.鈥

It guarantees to consumers that the product has been tested and approved by a panel of independent industry experts.
For Monde Selection 2020, 3,200 products from more than 100 countries were rigorously analysed. They were tested and tasted by expert juries composed of eminent professionals such as Michelin starred chefs, Euro-Toques (the European community of chefs), members of the Acad茅mie Culinaire de France and other prestigious associations.
Jury members consider as many as 25 different parameters to establish the profile of each product, an evaluation which goes far beyond regular tastings.
An awards ceremony had been due to take place in Munich, Germany, on May 29, but coronavirus has led to the cancellation.
Evaluation sessions began in October, with the committee ensuring it had no impact on the assessments.
