Turkish industrial group Ciner has abandoned plans for a new glass bottling plant in that promised to created 600 new jobs.
The family-owned group, which is one of the biggest firms in Turkey, said the business case for the 拢390m project, first announced back in 2020, was no longer viable following changes to demand in the 海角视频 marketplace.
However, it confirmed it is in discussions with the over acquiring the site at the Rassau Industrial Estate.
Ciner said at this stage it couldn't reveal what potential alternative investment could be considered for the site. However, the wide-ranging group is particularly interest in solar panels, lithium batteries and other innovations within the renewables sector aligned to its glass and soda ash businesses.
Ciner said it has not received any financial support from the Welsh Government or Blaenau Gwent Council to date.

A spokesperson for Blaenau Gwent Council said : "We acknowledge today鈥檚 announcement from Ciner Glass regarding changes to its investment plans in Blaenau Gwent, and confirmation that the company will not be proceeding with its original proposal for a glass bottling facility at Rassau Industrial Estate, Ebbw Vale.
"We welcome the company鈥檚 statement reinforcing its continued commitment to Blaenau Gwent and to long-term investment in Wales and the 海角视频.

Ciner said it has invested close to 拢20m in the development of this project, through social enterprise initiatives,
it said the decision to abandon the bottling factory will not impact on the Ciner family鈥檚 continued support for a range of community and sporting initiatives, locally and across Wales.
These include Ebbw Vale Rugby Club, where it recently confirmed another year long sponsorship deal, and the Welsh Rugby Union鈥檚 Fit , Fed, Fun campaign.
