A ‘smart factory’ - billed as the first production facility of its kind in the 海角视频 - has opened in Warwickshire.
The factory is located in Napton, near Southam, and is a partnership between Lontra and Shield Group Engineering.
Lontra says its advanced manufacturing centre could create thousands of jobs in the long term.
Lontra is a pioneer in advanced engineering technologies in air compression.
The new purpose-built facility represents the first phase of an expansion where Lontra plans to develop several similar factories, a global technology centre, assembly facilities and a digitally driven services centre.
Lontra says its new digital manufacturing facility and longer term investment will unlock major growth for the company and its partners, creating thousands of high value jobs.
The new advanced manufacturing facility will complement the firm’s existing research and development Technology Centre.
It is hoping to cash-in on a £69-billion market for compressed air across 150 countries through its growing distributor network.

The factory is part of a new build high-tech manufacturing and research park.
Lontra plans to expand its research, development and manufacturing further in the Midlands and the north of England.
Also to launch a new digital services facility in London and build several assembly plants in ports around the 海角视频.
Lontra is the company behind the ‘blade compressor’ – described as ‘the first clean-sheet compressor design in over 80 years’.
Its Napton factory will see a massive expansion of manufacturing capability.
With the backing of Shield Group Engineering, one of the largest manufacturers in the 海角视频 with contracts to supply components to Caterpillar, Cummins, Aston Martin, Borg Warner, Ford and JCB, the project is tipped to boost the local and 海角视频 economy.
