Notts firm Thomas Bow City Asphalt wins £36m Leicestershire roads contract

Business will be responsible for more than 3,000 miles of roadways, delivering everything from road marking to surfacing

A Notts-based construction group has picked up a £36 million contract to oversee road repairs and road maintenance across Leicester and Leicestershire.

Thomas Bow City Asphalt has secured the four year framework contract with the city and county councils, becoming principal contractor on the work.

It has seen the firm take on 19 new members of staff.

The business, which is based in Middleton Street, Nottingham, will be responsible for more than 3,000 miles of roadways, delivering everything from traffic management to road marking, road planning and surfacing.

The family firm is headed up by Alistair Bow, sixth generation managing director, and fellow directors Alex Gardner, John Allen and David Wilkinson.

It specialises in highways and infrastructure projects throughout the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ, working with the private and public sector.

High-profile clients include Birmingham Airport, the NEC Birmingham, Bentley Motors and racetracks including Donington Park in Leicestershire, Snetterton, Brands Hatch, Oulton Park and Cadwell Park.
