A County Durham lighting manufacturer has opened new bases in Scotland and London after winning a string of contracts across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

Artech Lighting has launched the new sites after securing a host of new orders throughout the pandemic, while also recruiting lighting experts to head up the two facilities.

Deals the company has won include supplying lighting for the redevelopment of the University of Strathclyde, Sunderland’s new City Hall and a host of exclusive office developments in the centre of London.

The business, which is based in Durham City, has recruited Nathan Thorpe as managing partner of Artech Lighting (London) Ltd and Jack Martin to lead expansion north of the border as managing partner of Artech Lighting (Scotland) Ltd.

Director Stuart Hylton, who has overseen year-on-year growth since taking up the reins at the company in 2018, said: “It is a really exciting time for Artech Lighting and I’m delighted to welcome Nathan and Jack to the company.

“Having spent the last three years establishing ourselves in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and global marketplace, we are certain this executive team will ignite the next stage of our evolution. These hubs are the future of the business.

“Not only will they allow us to penetrate new markets, they will also help as we expand our manufacturing operations here in the North East, creating more highly skilled jobs at a time when they are most needed.
