Nissan staff recognised in Autocar’s Top 100 Great British Women

Autocar publishes the top 100 each year to raise the profile of women shaping the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ car industry

Four women who have worked at Nissan’s Sunderland Plant have been recognised in the motor industry’s most prestigious awards.

Autocar publishes its Top 100 Great British Women every year, celebrating dirversity in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ car industry by shining a light on the women currently shaping the future of the sector.

Nissan workrs Claire Errington, Nicola Stoker, Carole Jeffrie and Emma Coulson have all been singled out for their roles in the industry.

Ms Errington, the Sunderland paint shop manager, who was nominated in the manufacturing category, has worked at the plant since 1998 and became the plant’s first female production manager in 2018.

She was recognised for her role running the shop and the successful launch of the new Nissan Juke with its distinctive two-tone paint options.

She said: “It is great to be recognised and rewards like this are a great way of showing that there are opportunities available to everyone within the automotive sector.

“What’s more important for me is working as part of a great team, and the pride that comes from the fantastic cars we build for our customers.”
