Scunthorpe packaging specialist CorrBoard º£½ÇÊÓƵ has a new managing director.

Rob Burgin, formerly general manager for DS Smith Northfields in nearby Louth, will take on the responsibility for the running of the £35 million turnover business, a specialist producer of corrugated sheet board.

With experience of both the print and packaging industries, Mr Burgin is described as bringing a wealth of knowledge and category insight to his role at the 320,000 sq ft purpose-built Normanby Enterprise Park plant.

He said: “While I have experience within the print and packaging sectors, this is a new and exciting challenge for me. CorrBoard has a strong and growing presence in the market and working with the wider team here, I want to make sure we have a reputation for quality and service to match.

“We have set out our strategy and know what we want to achieve. It will take hard work, commitment and determination but I can already see that we have the right people in place to make it happen.”

The appointment is described as the first of a series of senior hires that are planned at the business as the senior management team is strengthened over coming months.
