A Birmingham-based ceremonial regalia clothing and equipment business is set for growth after securing a new funding deal.

Ammo and Company will use the package to fulfil a new contract awarded to the company by the Ministry of Defence.

The undisclosed funding from HSBC º£½ÇÊÓÆµ will provide working capital, enabling the supply of basic training uniforms for new army recruits as part of the new MoD contract along with targeting expansion in the US and Canada.

Ammo and Company, which is based on Gravelly Industrial Park near Spaghetti Junction, was awarded the King's Award for Enterprise last year in recognition of its significant growth in Commonwealth countries such as New Zealand.

The business was founded 150 years ago in Birmingham, supplying uniform and equipment for traditional ceremonial events of the British Army such as Trooping the Colour and Firing of the Royal Salute.

It is the sole supplier of tents, rucksacks, sleeping bags and camping equipment for training cadets based in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ as well as bespoke clothing and ceremonial regalia wear for use in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ armed forces.

Among the items it produces are ceremonial gloves, musical instruments, flag poles and badges.

Finance director Carlos Nuche said: "We're entering a period of remarkable growth and we're pleased to receive financial support from HSBC º£½ÇÊÓÆµ to make this a reality."
