Mozzarella cheese maker for Pizza Hut, Domino's and Papa John's adds over £100m in sales

The º£½ÇÊÓÆµ arm of a mozzarella cheese maker that supplies the likes of Pizza Hut, Domino's and Papa John's added over £100m to its turnover during its latest financial year.

Leprino Foods has reported a turnover of £425.5m for 2022, up from £317.8m in 2021, according to newly-filed accounts with Companies House.

The business also posted a pre-tax profit of £29.8m, a rise from £12.8m.

Until July 30 this year, the company had been known as Glanbia Cheese but was renamed after being bought by US-headquartered Leprino Foods for €160m in April.

Glanbia Cheese had been part of a joint venture between Glanbia plc and Leprino Foods.

The company has a corporate office in Nantwich as well as manufacturing sites in north Wales and Northern Ireland.

A statement signed off by the board said: "The directors expect the market place to continue to be competitive and expect overall margins to be challenging in 2023.
