A founding director of one of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s biggest independent plant and machinery suppliers is stepping down after more than 25 years with the firm.

Bristol-based Molson Group has announced that joint group managing director Jonathan Wilson will be departing the business he co-founded with Robin Powell in 1996.

The company, which employs around 300 people at its headquarters on Smoke Lane in Avonmouth, provides equipment to customers in the construction, demolition, ports, recycling and waste management sectors.

The business has a turnover of more than £250m with 19 divisions spread over 15 locations across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

Molson Group said that Mr Wilson was leaving the organisation in a “position of strength”, with the business reporting a record turnover year with full order books for 2022.

It added that he and Mr Powell, who will continue as sole group managing director, had remained “firm friends” throughout their quarter of a century at the helm, and would continue to be business partners in several other ventures.

Mr Wilson said: “I am very proud of the success that Robin and I, and our fantastic team, have achieved with Molson Group.

“I step away safe in the knowledge that the business will continue to thrive and grow in the coming years. I wish Robin and his team every success and will watch with interest as they continue on their journey.”
