Growing electronics sub-contractor Midway has invested more than £80,000 in the launch of a new business – so it can offer a ‘cradle to grave’ service to its customers.

The Midway Group, which is based at the former Aynsley China factory shop in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent is already made up of Midway Manufacturing – which specialises in electro-mechanical assembly – and Midway Design, which focuses on design and development projects.

But now Midway Contract Electronics Ltd has been launched as part of the company’s ambitious growth plans to become a £5 million business within the next five years.

Midway Contract Electronics specialises in rapid-response and low-to-medium volume PCB assembly for customers across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Europe.

Already new positions have been created following the company’s launch – taking Midway’s total workforce up to 26.

Last year, the Midway Group turned over £1.2 million and – thanks to the introduction of Midway Contract Electronics – expects to exceed £1.6 million in 2019.

Managing director Phil Harper said: “Midway Manufacturing is 30 years old this year and for the majority of that time we have specialised in cable and electro-mechanical assembly.

“We launched Midway Design two years ago so we could meet the design requirements of our customers and now with our new company, Midway Contract Electronics, we will be able to offer a one-stop shop service.
