Coventry vehicle manufacturer the London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) is creating more than 100 new jobs as part of its continued growth.
The company, which makes the famous London taxi, has revealed a number of plans for 2020.
They include hiring more than 100 people, growing its product range and expanding into new export markets.
The manufacturer is based in Ansty Park on the edge of Coventry.
LEVC has expanded its product line-up beyond the TX taxi, which is known the world over, and now uses hybrid power rather than diesel.
It also makes the TX shuttle variant and later this year will be launching an all-new electric van.
All the company’s vehicles going forward will utilise LEVC’s eCity technology which combines petrol and electric power.
LEVC’s vehicles are also renowned for their turning circle capability and durability.

The company a record year in 2019 with more than 2,500 units sold and it is predicting a 50% sales surge in 2020.
LEVC also predicts it will be more than doubling its market presence, with plans to be operating in 20 countries by the end of the year.
In order to meet the company’s 2020 growth strategy, more than 100 new jobs will be created at its advanced manufacturing facility in Ansty Park.
LEVC’s CEO Joerg Hofmann said: “LEVC is at the forefront of reinventing mobility, by transforming from an iconic British taxi brand to a leading electric vehicle manufacturer.
“We are at a pivotal time in LEVC’s history. Our strategic direction is on track as we deliver consistent, planned growth and I’m delighted to be able to create new job opportunities this year to support the continuing success of our business.”
Both the TX models and new electric van use LEVC’s e-City range extender technology, with 80 miles (130km) of emissions free driving and an extended electrically driven total range of over 370 miles (600km).
