Micro-generation specialist MyEnergi is celebrating shipping its 10,000th Zappi electric vehicle charger.
The milestone for the renewables-focused team comes as a recently released update to the flagship product from the Lincolnshire Wolds-based company has already notched 1,000 sales.
An eco-smart device, it has been influential in the rapid growth of the business, only launched in early 2017 in Binbrook, near Grimsby.
In that time the team has grown from two – founders Lee Sutton and Jordan Brompton – to more than 50 staff members, expanding on the business centre it is based, capitalising on bridging the gap between renewable energy and the EV world, allowing users to charge vehicles using solar panels and wind turbines.
It has opened up two huge markets, building on the foundation that Eddi - the company’s energy management device that allows users to reduce both bills and emissions - initially gave them.
Mrs Brompton said: “We’re absolutely ecstatic. We are still a small company, but we’re growing, and the team have just worked so hard.
“The dedication from the team to get these products out on time is amazing. Our research and development staff work until the early hours of the morning to ensure we complete everything on-site.
“To finally make our customers happy and fulfil that demand is a huge relief. The hard work is being paid off.”

Demand for products continues to grow, and Mrs Brompton believes this is partly due to the fact that MyEnergi is a British company and start-up, creating jobs and manufacturing solely in the 海角视频.
High profile financial backing from former Tesco chief Sir Terry Leahy and Bill Currie, founder of investment house William Currie Group came early last year, and an initial celebrity endorsement became a working partnership with Robert Llewellyn, the Red Dwarf and Scrapheap Challenge star who has his own EV YouTube channel, Full Charged.
Mrs Brompton said: “We knew we had created something special, but the fact that we are having to work so hard to keep up with the customer demand, producing and delivering products in the thousands, demonstrates just how eager EV drivers are for our products.”
Record sales of EV cars have just been announced, with registrations up nearly fivefold to take record 3.4 per cent market share. Company car tax on EVs will be non-existent from next year, and a £400 million government pot has just been announced to fund rapid charging infrastructure points for electric vehicles. The first £70 million investment will create 3,000 new locations – doubling the number of rapid charge points across the 海角视频 by 2024.
For MyEnergi it means the Zappi can become a great option for business too, as the 2018 Humber Renewables Award winner now expects to quadruple product sales over the next two years.
Innovations being brought forward include a Zappi that no longer has to be installed on a wall.
