Maker of the iconic Wagon Wheel creating new jobs at its South Wales factory

Burton's Biscuits said the new roles are needed to meet growing orders

Wagon Wheel to Jammie Dodgers maker Burton's Biscuit Co is creating dozens of jobs at its factory in South Wales.

The firm said it is creating nearly 30 jobs at its flagship bakery at Llantarnam to meet growing orders.

The include both supervisor and support roles, including technicians and production operatives.

Simon Browne, managing director of  Burton’s Biscuit Co, said: “Recent acquisitions and increased business with some of the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ’ leading supermarket groups have contributed to substantial business growth and enhanced output at the Llantarnam manufacturing site, which produces over 40,000 tonnes of biscuits a year.

“We’re committed to maintaining our current growth and are delighted to be giving dozens of people the opportunity to join our successful  team at Llantarnam. We want to fill the posts quickly and are inviting applications via our website now.”

Burton’s employs mrore than 650 people at its Llantarnam, factory which also produces Maryland Cookies.

Burton's has had a factory Llantarnam, in Cwmbran, since 1939.
