Jaguar Land Rover supplies fleet of vehicles to British Red Cross

The vehicles will be used to to deliver medicine and food to elderly and vulnerable people across the country

Jaguar Land Rover supplies Red Cross vehicle fleet

Jaguar Land Rover has made a fleet of vehicles available to the Red Cross as part of efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic.

The Coventry car maker has provided 57 vehicles, including 27 new Land Rover Defenders from its press fleet, for the British Red Cross to deliver medicine and food to the elderly and other vulnerable people across the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ.

Jaguar Land Rover currently has a large fleet of Defenders as it was in the midst of both global and º£½ÇÊÓÆµ launch events for its latest model - which have now been put on hold.

The initiative is part of a global effort backed by Jaguar Land Rover which has seen  160 vehicles deployed globally to support emergency response organisations. 

A further 65 vehicles are supporting the Red Cross Societies in Australia, Spain, South Africa and France with more vehicles expected to be deployed in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and other countries soon.

Land Rover has worked with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies IFRC for over 65 years, funding disaster-preparedness and emergency-response projects around the world. 

Jaguar Land Rover is also supporting º£½ÇÊÓÆµ local resilience forums by loaning vehicles to the National Health Service and emergency services response teams fighting coronavirus.

This service is being provided with fleets of vehicles now available due to the postponement of launch events.
