Jaguar Land Rover鈥檚 boss has issued a stark warning that production could be hit due to supply chain issues in China caused by the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.
Ralf Speth said the issue could become critical next month.
The Coventry car maker鈥檚 CEO issued his warning when speaking to Sky News reporters in Coventry for the unveiling of the company鈥檚 Project Vector driverless concept vehicle.
He said the company had enough parts to continue producing cars at its 海角视频 plants this week and next but warned of shortfalls from March should delays to deliveries persist.
Mr Speth said: 鈥淭his is an issue for the complete car automotive industry.
鈥淲e don鈥檛 know how long it will take before the supply chain comes on stream again in China.
鈥淲e have flown parts in suitcases from China to the 海角视频.鈥
Jaguar Land Rover has already seen the closure of its factory in China.
The Coventry car maker said the closure of the factory in Changshu had been implemented in accordance with local government guidelines.
The factory is a joint venture (JV) with Chinese car maker Chery and is around 800km from Wuhan, the city at the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak.
The coronavirus outbreak has seen many factories closed down in China and restrictions on movement.
Jaguar Land Rover has already said that it expected the coronavirus outbreak to impact its performance because it will affect its supply chain.
The company said it could impact on its fourth quarter profits.
Jaguar Land Rover recently announced it is set to halt production on some days due to the challenges in the global car market.

The changes will mean production will entirely stop for either full or half days at both the car giant鈥檚 Solihull and Castle Bromwich factories.
Prior to that Jaguar Land Rover announced it was cutting hundreds of jobs at its Halewood plant in Merseyside as it moves from a three-shift system to a two-shift one.
