Industrial asset integrity specialist IrisNDT has acquired a tank and pipeline inspection business based close to its º£½ÇÊÓƵ headquarters.

Grimsby-area firm Viking Inspection Ltd is to be absorbed into the Immingham office of the Canadian multinational, just months after it acquired James Fisher’s operations in the sector.

Launched in 2014 by Stephen Delves, a former RAF aircraft engine technician, Viking serves the oil and petrochemical industries globally. A team of up to 18 will join IrisNDT’s Middleplatt Road team, with 220 employed in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

Managing director Roman Kyrnyckyj said: “We welcome Stephen Delves and Viking, its employees, and customers to the IrisNDT family. Viking is a company that we have followed for a few years, and we are very excited at this outcome.

“The addition of Viking fits perfectly into our overall asset integrity engineering strategy, and under Stephen’s leadership we will be able to offer a more focused tank inspection service.”

The deal is structured with certain assets having been bought out for an undisclosed sum.

Viking was based at Holton-le-Clay’s Lancaster Court, and had been established by Mr Delves who supported the Lightning Fighter squadron based at RAF Binbrook.
