Significant investment has been channelled into a huge engineering base at Immingham as it is geared up to play a key role in high level growth plans.
Engie Fabricom’s 13,615-acre manufacturing and construction facility has had enviable transportation links to the neighbouring port improved, as well as machinery advances.
The road rail crossing work has significantly enhanced the access links to both the rail and docking areas it has, with a large investment into its state-of-the-art welding fume extraction facilities that meet the stringent new rulings of the Health and Safety Executive.
The base, off Middleplatt Road, is the largest of five sites operated in the 海角视频 by the Grimsby-headquartered firm.
Upgrades to the site form part of the company’s ambitious growth plans which have recently seen the introduction of a more streamlined organisational structure as it strives to hit a 100 per cent increase in turnover by 2022.
It closed off 2017 with revenues of £54 million, employing 274 people.
Richard Webster, chief executive, said: “It is important for the business to continually invest in our facilities and be at the very forefront in service delivery. It is absolutely imperative that we continue to ensure all systems are well above HSE requirements and operate as efficiently as possible.
“Our manufacturing and construction centre is in an absolute ideal location – which is very much a selling point for our clients - and through enhancing our already robust transport infrastructure at this site – our operations will run even more swiftly.
“We are delighted that we have seen significant growth in enquiries and possess a very healthy order book for the next year. We will continue to ensure the very highest levels of service will be delivered.”

The site includes multiple covered workshops and an outside assembly area, and has experienced an increased volume of work over the last business quarter, with the firm receiving an unprecedented number of enquiries for its full turnkey services in modular build works, in particular pre-assembled units.
Mr Webster said that the location, by the 海角视频’s largest port “really sets it apart from companies offering similar services” with direct road and sea links to its clients predominately in the oil, gas, power and renewable energy sectors.
Engie Fabricom is also making investments in cutting and prepping machinery which will significantly improve productivity on-site.
The company, which vacated neighbouring offices in favour of Europarc five years ago, was originally South Humberside Engineering and Fabrication Services - founded by the late Grimsby Town director Bill Duffield. Belgian-owned GDF Suez bought it in the mid-1990s, rebranding what became known as Fabricom earlier this decade.
From Immingham it delivers a wide range of services from the design, manufacture and construction of modularised units of varying sizes and uses weighing up to 1,500 tonnes, to providing project engineering and management solutions, right through to the design, fabrication and installation of piping systems of all grades and electrical and instrumentation.
It as delivered projects for major clients across the globe, including BP Exploration, Phillips 66, Laing O’Rourke and Nippon Gohsei.
