Group behind successful foil insulation brand SuperFOIL says sales up almost a third

Boulder Developments also owns airflow specialist Ventilation Megastore and cork tiling supplier Treefloor

William Bown, the managing director of SuperFOIL Insulation

The group behind the successful SuperFOIL Insulation brand say annual sales are up almost a third.

Management at Boulder Developments, which also owns airflow specialist Ventilation Megastore and cork tiling supplier Treefloor, said turnover topped £9.5 million last year, 30 per cent up on the previous year.

The Lincoln-based group – which was established by Craig and Alison Bown in December 1997 and today employs 46 people – said growth was driven by demand for its “cost effective, high performance” insulation as families work to keep high heating bills down.

SuperFOIL Insulation is the biggest of Boulder’s three businesses, specialising in sustainable and high performance foil insulation products. It was launched by Boulder Developments in 2006, and has grown year-on-year.

The business recently said that over the 2022/23 winter it expected to sell more than 350,000 sq metres of foil insulation to retailers across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ, including Aldi, Wickes, Wilko, The Range, Yorkshire Trading Company and Travis Perkins. Its products are used to insulate radiators, shed roofs, garage doors and home lofts.

Boulder Developments has been making cork tiles since 2013, and launched its latest venture TreeFloor in 2022, offering a range of plain and self-adhesive cork tiles.

Meanwhile Ventilation Megastore specialises in mechanical ventilation systems for homes and businesses, helping maintain fresh, clean air and constant temperatures and preventing condensation.

Boulder Developments began when Craig Bown decided to explore insulation options to kit out his own home, and was unimpressed with the products available on the market. Today the team operates out of a five acre premises in Lincoln.
