A fast-growing technical coatings manufacturer in Gloucestershire is rebranding after broadening its products and services.
Advanced Insulation Systems (AIS), which is headquartered in Quedgeley West Business Park near Gloucester, is a global provider of insulation, fire protection, buoyancy and cable protection systems to the oil, gas, subsea and marine industries.
Over the past three years the company has expanded on its initial insulation services and increased its share in emerging markets such as offshore wind and, more recently, in the automotive and defence sectors.

Last year the firm strengthened its subsea ambitions by acquiring specialist French engineering firm Bardot, which designs materials used for connecting equipment undersea.
AIS has now taken the decision to change its name to Advanced Innergy Solutions, and will also continue to be known as AIS.
The company said the addition of the word ‘Innergy’ captured the “innovative nature” of its products and services for the energy sector.
The group said it would also add AIS to the names of its divisions such as Bardot and Plymouth-based Manuplas, which produces marine buoyancy products, quayside fenders and protection and insulation for ships.
Last year, Manuplas signed a two-year lease for additional storage space close to its existing production facility in Estover, Plymouth.

The expansion coincided with AIS’ acquisition of a new factory in Gloucester that focuses on the production of subsea products.
AIS said bringing together all of its services under one umbrella brand would make it easier for the group to showcase all of its solutions and products.
Andrew Bennion, the company’s managing director, said: “It was important during this process that AIS retained its history and established presence in core sectors by undergoing an evolution rather than a revolution, but at the same time updating our name and branding to future proof our growth.”
Mr Bennion said the new company branding, logo and website would appear immediately, with the move representing its ambition and evolution over recent years.
As well its operations in the South West, AIS has global manufacturing facilities in Brazil, UAE, South Korea and Kazakhstan.
It won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2016 for international trade, and followed this with double success in 2017 and 2018 in the innovation category.
