Gloss finish toasted as Crown Paints' £4.4m expansion primes Hull plant for growth

A £4.4 million expansion of Hull’s Crown Paints manufacturing plant is complete.

The state-of-the-art raw material and packaging warehouse facility has been unveiled, with the investment providing an additional 4,265 sq m of storage.

It paves the way for future growth as operations are consolidated across the Sculcoates Lane site, freeing up space elsewhere.

Hull is the Danish-owned company’s major water-based paint production plant in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ.

Manufacturing director Ellis Mudd said: “The new multi-million-pound Hull warehouse creates much-needed additional storage space for raw materials and packaging, allowing us to increase

our manufacturing output and improve efficiencies.

“Not only that, but the new modern infrastructure which includes over 500 solar panels contributes significantly to our sustainability strategy.
