A Cheshire company which makes glass bottles for fragrances from the likes of Gucci, Lacoste and French Connection is expecting to report "good growth" in its turnover after the previous year was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Continental Bottle Company, which is based in Winsford, has reported a turnover of £15.1m for the 12 months to July 31, 2020, compared to £15.5m in the prior year.

The business has also posted a pre-tax profit of £325,539 for the period, down from £698,666.

The company also works with the likes of River Island, Boots, Marks and Spencer, Next, Ted Baker and White Company while it was founded in 1991.

A statement signed off by the board said: "The trading position remains positive although Covid affected sales in March, April and May 2020.

"The closure of many manufacturing plants directly affected the fragrance side of the business and many orders were postponed.

"Closure of non-essential retail businesses directly affected demand for fragrance-related products.
